We're Milton Musical Society
Milton Musical Society (MMS) is an award-winning New Milton-based amateur theatrical group, specialising in musical theatre and performance.
About us
Founded in 1968, we’re very privileged to still be performing to audiences of over 5,000 a year in venues across Dorset, Hampshire and the New Forest. We typically put on two shows a year: one at The Regent (Christchurch) in spring and a second in the autumn, in our home town of New Milton at Forest Arts Centre. As well as big shows, we regularly perform themed concerts in the local community.
Over the last 58 years we’ve entertained thousands of theatregoers with timeless classics, such as Oklahoma! and My Fair Lady, as well as contemporary shows, including 9to5 The Musical, Sister Act, and Funny Girl.
Annually, we also have great success with our original productions that are written by members of the society, including Westenders, Departures, Once Upon a Time and Power of Love, where we performed to sell-out audiences.
What makes us special
What makes MMS special is our inclusive and diverse membership. Our casts are made up of talented individuals of all abilities ranging from 8 to 80 years old!
We believe that everyone should have a chance to perform, and many of our members have found hidden talents: singing solos they didn’t know they could sing and dancing steps they didn’t know they could dance!
